"Over the last several weeks we had been viewing tapes I shot close to 30 years ago, mostly of our son. We wanted to get them transferred to DVD and local shops wanted hundreds of dollars, which was bad enough, but most of the tapes are just a few minutes up to as much as 20. They insisted they could not combine several tapes onto one DVD because it would involve too much work. My son and I both said there has to be a way to convert them to digital video and put them on hard drive and then burn several onto one DVD at a time. And this is where your software came in."

Then there's a tape that had about 4 different days of family tapes that I captured in 4 segments. Now when I have some more time, I will try to learn how to edit the tapes. One benefit that I now recognize is that I will save hundreds of dollars on future birthday, Christmas and other presents. "I have been taking my mini DV video camera tapes of the kids to Ritz Camera down the street for years and getting them converted to DVD. Went there recently to get an old VHS converted and they were no longer there. Went on line to see what options there might be and found your site and decided to take the chance.
I had a 21 year old VHS video tape that I wanted to preserve. Had to experiment with the different recording options and found that the WMV Good Quality worked best for this particular video and my laptops capability.
I am an electrical engineer that now builds avionics for satellites in Arizona. In the early 90's I was working on rockets and participated in a demonstration mission as part of a space based weapons defence concept that Reagan started as part of the Space Defence Initiative Organization (SDIO). I was only 4 years out of college at the time. I am 51 now. The defence system concept consisted of the US placing a sensor or constellation of sensors in space over the Soviet Union that could detect and track an ICBM launch. It would then predict the reentry point and relay that information to a different constellation of satellites equipped with what were called Light Weight Exoatmospheric Projectiles (LEAP). The LEAP was equipped with an infrared seeker to detect and track the incoming ICBM and then crash into it before it could enter the US.
Ultimately the whole program was cancelled by Clinton in the 94 time frame but I got the privilege to witness this test in person and it was just about the coolest thing I had ever seen at the time. The two files that I enclosed are snippets from the output of your software. This was the hover test that I wanted to preserve. It was a demonstration of the LEAP concept. It was a test to prove that it could fly and acquire a thermal target and track it while maneuvering. I just wanted to say thanks that I was successfully able to preserve this memory for me. The whole tape was only about six minutes long consisting of about 12 different camera angels. The attached recordings are just 3 of the angles to keep the file sizes reasonable. One view of the LEAP from inside the complex and one view from the outside looking in. The last is the view from the infrared seeker.
This was a memory that I just did not want to loose due to a technology change like an 8 track tape. Very good idea you have here. I bet there are some other old dudes out there that have old tapes that they should consider converting to modern technology."

"Prior to purchasing the Film2USB, I purchased ClearClicks VHS2DVD, so now I am able to get my old family VHS tapes saved on my computer or burned to DVD, plus I can now see all of my old slides as digital photos. These two devices are a must have especially after I had gotten quotes on doing what I can now do for pennies not the high quotes I got. I found ClearClick several years ago and have purchased many of their products. Let me just say I have never been disappointed.
